Precision machining technology operates as the core factor determining the ultimate performance of harmonic reducers. Within this manufacturing workflow, gear shaping precision directly influences the tooth profile quality and overall transmission efficiency. Previously, the domestic gear shaping process for circular splines faced massive difficulties in error control and tooth profile adaptability. These issues severely restricted the overall performance capabilities of harmonic reducers.

The Challenge of Circular Spline Manufacturing

• The circular spline requires exact dimensional accuracy to function correctly.
• Gear shaping acts as the most critical manufacturing procedure for this component.
• Poor shaping precision leads directly to increased transmission errors.

Applying Advanced Simulation and Mathematical Modeling

• The research team focused heavily on the dual arc tooth profile gear shaping cutter design.
• Engineers systematically explored the exact sources of error within the shaping cutter.
• The team successfully utilized VERICUT simulation software to validate cutter designs and theoretical calculations.
• Researchers constructed a mathematical relationship between the circular pitch cumulative error and the complete machine transmission error.
• The study clarified how parameters like cutter runout, machine runout, cutter tooth count, and shaping cycles affect transmission accuracy.

Elevating Transmission Accuracy and Product Lifespan

This massive breakthrough in gear shaping research effectively elevated the machining precision of the circular spline and significantly reduced transmission errors. These improvements further optimized the adaptability and lifespan advantages of the independently developed Delta tooth profile.
